Leading Medical Director Discusses “Women Taking the Lead in Saving the Planet”
BOWIE, Maryland and ANNAPOLIS, Maryland – March 19, 2009 – MedAssurant, Inc., a leading provider of data-driven healthcare solutions, announced today Dr. Paige Kilian, MedAssurant’s Medical Director, will speak on the theme of “Women Taking the Lead in Saving the Planet” at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Women’s History Month event held Thursday, March 19, 2009 in Washington, DC.
“I firmly believe that making a difference in someone else's life can be the most rewarding experience of your own. I am honored to participate in the HHS Women’s History Month program and I hope my story inspires others to become more involved in their communities,” said Dr. Paige Kilian, Medical Director of MedAssurant.
Dr. Kilian’s presentation will focus on going green in medicine and the community. She will touch on her experiences from working with the homeless community as a coordinator for her local Interfaith Hospital Network as well as highlight MedAssurant's philanthropic efforts and success in the disease management arena. Additionally, Dr. Kilian will discuss MedAssurant’s commitment to being a "green” corporation including MedAssurant’s Bowie, Maryland award winning, green certified, Class A corporate headquarters which was named best Suburban Office Building of 2007 and Best Environmentally Friendly Building by the Maryland/DC Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Women’s History Month program takes a look at the significant role of women in American history and contemporary society and promotes the recognition of the important work of women in the on-going green movement .
