EMR Acceleration™
The benefit of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system implementation is highly dependent on the amount of information contained within it. In the absence of previously populated relevant data  the EMR system has limited value. The ability for a practitioner (whether in an emergency room or an outpatient clinic) to access or "pull up" a returning or acutely presenting patient's medical data can prove highly efficient, valuable, and even life-saving. Unfortunately, however, after the expenditure of tens of millions of dollars by healthcare systems on internally developed or third-party EMR solutions, upon implementation,  the only content is the limited amounts of administrative claims, laboratory, and pharmacy data that already exists within a healthcare system’s IT infrastructure.

Utilization of MedAssurant's EMR Acceleration™ system dramatically increases the cost effective pre-population of relevant medical data into an organization's EMR system. With the right level of granularity applied to the right patients in the right priority order, organizations can intelligently migrate to a fully functional EMR system as quickly and as cost effectively as possible for the right patients and disease categories.

MedAssurant works together with each EMR client in an effort to identify the necessary patient sub-populations (e.g. pediatric, cardiac, OB, surgical, outpatient PCP) and the relevant desired data pre-populations (e.g. immunization and growth records, EKGs, previous pregnancy histories, surgical outcomes, and general medicine H&Ps). Subsequently, MedAssurant performs complex administrative data analysis to identify which patients are in need of which type and granularity of medical chart abstraction processes. Ultimately medical charts are located, abstracted, and the resulting data is transferred to the underlying EMR system databases.

With MedAssurant's EMR Acceleration™ system enabling its clients to set template parameters and abstraction criteria thresholds, each client can determine project scope and costs. From 25,000 patients seen at a local community hospital to 5,000,000 patients seen nationwide within a national healthcare network, MedAssurant has the infrastructure and experience to customize and implement the processes needed to achieve a rapid transition to your desired EMR utilization.
