Stephen J. Flannery

Vice President of Operational Excellence

Stephen Flannery serves as Vice President of Operational Excellence for MedAssurant. In this role he acts as senior representative of the Company in ensuring the ongoing maintenance, development and implementation of policies and procedures aimed at achieving performance and quality expectations of the areas of Medical Record Review Operations, Care Enhancement Operations, Facilities, and Human Resources.

Prior to joining MedAssurant, Mr. Flannery served as Vice President of Reporting and Quality at WellPoint, Inc. While there he led the effort to create enterprise reporting and Quality Assurance programs. Additionally, he managed the company’s Grievance and Appeals unit along with overseeing the company’s State Sponsored Business operations team. Mr. Flannery was also responsible for the management of the Benefit Administration and Business Analysis groups within WellPoint.

Prior to his roles at WellPoint, he held senior operational positions at both Coventry Health Care and Oxford Health Plans. Mr. Flannery received his bachelor of science from the University of Massachusetts.​​​​​​​
