Mr. Eric Pomerantz serves as the Chief Legal Officer at MedAssurant. In this role Mr. Pomerantz holds the responsibility for the planning, management, execution and oversight of all legal, liability, regulatory, intellectual property, and risk management matters across all aspects of the Company. Prior to joining MedAssurant, Mr. Pomerantz served as a Co-Founder of F&P Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an early-stage specialty pharma company, and as General Counsel for Reliant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he directed the company’s legal and regulatory efforts during the company’s process of pursuing listing as a publicly traded company. As an executive leader, Mr. Pomerantz served a collaborative role with Reliant Pharmaceuticals’ CEO and CFO with respect to both business and legal strategies, and played a crucial role in both the company’s ultimate acquisition by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and the post-transaction integration processes. Prior to his time at Reliant Pharmaceuticals and GSK, Mr. Pomerantz served more than 10 years in various positions of Novartis. These included his serving as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Sandoz Inc., a $1.5 billion generics division of Novartis, where he was responsible for a wide range of corporate legal issues from product pricing and product development rights, to intellectual property assessment and defense. Also during his tenure at Novartis, Mr. Pomerantz served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Novartis Animal Health US, Inc. and served as Divisional Counsel for Novartis AG in Basel, Switzerland. Prior to his positions in corporate counsel roles, Mr. Pomerantz served as Litigation Counsel at Ciba-Geigy Corporation and nearly ten years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of The District Attorney of New York County. Mr. Pomerantz received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Law & Society from SUNY Binghamton, Harpur College, New York, and received his Juris Doctorate from the American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington, D.C.
